A Shift in Seasons

As we slowly make our way from swimsuits to sweaters, it’s clear to see that fall is upon us. I think I speak for many when I say that making the change from summer to fall is one of the most dreaded and difficult of season switches. For some (like me!), it simply marks a change in the weather. But for many, it marks the beginning of a school year; a complete change in daily routine. For those who fall (pun intended) into the latter category, I’d like to offer a few words.

To teachers:
Thank you. Thank you for devoting your time and energy into the lives of so many children. What a high calling it is to train and to teach. So many of the teachers I’ve had throughout the years have not only taught me subject material, but important life lessons such as responsibility, maturity, and what it means to walk as a disciple of Christ. Thank you for all you do to spread light. My prayer this year for you is for patience as you navigate your way through the difficulties that the school year may bring.

To highschool students:
I implore you to make the most of this year, of this time you have in highschool. As you are stretched mentally, find other ways to stretch yourselves as well. Step out of your comfort zone. Step up and set an example for the little eyes that watch you. Don’t underestimate the influence you have on those that are younger than you. Get enough sleep. Study hard, laugh harder. Enjoy these years, they fly by! My prayer for you all this year is for passion. That this would be the beginning of discovering where the Lord is leading you; what He is calling you to do with your life. May that passion be what drives you in academics and in pursuit of your calling.

To seniors specifically:
Finish the race. You can do this. Set an example worth emulating. Don’t get lazy, don’t give up. Take lots of pictures and cherish the little moments along the way. Don’t let the emotion of this time cloud the joy of this season! My prayer for those of you in this season is for perseverance. May you sprint to the finish line with your heads held high!

To those beginning college:
My prayer for you all is for persistence. May you be strong and determined, and unyielding in your beliefs. May God wipe away any fears you may have as you enter this new season, and may you thrive for His glory!

And to the dear, sweet parents that make it all possible:
Whether you have toddlers just starting preschool or kindergarten, or a teen that has left for college, my prayer for you this year is for peace. In the crazy and the chaos of late night homework projects, lunch packing, and uniform ironing, may God give you peace in walking out this season.

*and to you specifically Mrs. LaForest*
Praying for God’s peace over you as you miss your precious Taylor. May your heart be contented in knowing that Liberty University has gained such a bold, bright, and beautiful young lady, who is more than equipped to handle whatever is thrown her way. May you be proud of the hard work and dedication you’ve poured into her life as you see her grow and advance through these college years. 🙂

So here’s to a great school year, filled with patience, passion, perseverance, persistence, and peace. Per my blog’s moniker, I pray that this season of transition would be one full of joy and blessings, and the remembrance that it’s all in His goodness and all by His grace.

So much love to you all!
